United Angels Against Domestic Violence

Mission Statement

The goal of UAADV is to unite, network, and empower all of those that have experienced Domestic Violence, to be one Voice. Through this voice UAADV provides DV Victims, Survivors, and NCM's the hope to Survive today, tomorrow, and beyond; with aftercare, support, encouragement, empowerment, and assistance in locating local resources needed to overcome the abuse they suffered.  UAADV is bringing victims, survivors, advocates, organizations and communities together in a way that never before has been done.

About UAADV

UAADV is a Member Owned Grass Roots Movement that is comprised of Domestic Violence Survivors for the purpose of supporting Victims and Survivors alike, striving to provide the necessary education, support, aftercare and resources that are so desperately needed.

We believe that Domestic Violence is not just a family issue, but an issue that affects society as a whole, and it needs to be addressed properly through the court system, and legislation.  By providing aftercare and peer support to Victims, by Empowering Survivors, and by bringing Advocates, Organizations and Communities together, we know that we can then strive to make a difference in the way Domestic Violence is addressed and viewed World Wide.

UAADV was formed by Tracy Hommel to bring everyone together to have one voice against DV and issues pertaining to DV; such as family violence, sexual assault and the struggles of NCM's.  UAADV is for victims, survivors, and NCM's to have a place to go for aftercare, support, to give support, become empowered and get the chance to heal and move forward.

UAADV has many different projects that are already up and running as well as new projects that are being organized as need arises.

UAADV is the parent organization that hosts several Yahoo-based peer groups, individual state blogs for each state, a news blog, a bi-monthly circular, and runs a fully functioning main website to keep everything in one place.

To find a specific state blog use:  uaadvstatename.blogspot.com  in place of  'state name' type in your states name fully spelled out.  If you have trouble locating a certain state blog let us know we will help you and if that state has a rep we will put you in touch with them.

UAADV is a group of Survivors that are guided by a higher power, and believe that:

"If the flapping of one butterfly's wings can make a stir in the wind a hundred miles away, then the flapping of 1000's of butterfly wings will create a storm!"

Please give those of us that came out the strength to continue to grow...

And please give those still stuck in this situation the courage and the strength to get out.

Quote from UAADV Member

"We lose heart sometimes, but if you ever get discouraged and feel dis-empowered-just remember that even the toughest-minded physicist now admits that the flap of a butterfly's wings here can change the weather hundreds of miles away."

Gloria Steinem

"If the flapping of one butterfly's wings can make a stir in the wind a hundred miles away,

then the flapping of 1000's of butterfly wings will create a storm!"

If you have a story of a loved one that has lost the fight against Domestic Violence, please share it with us.  We would like to continue sharing the stories in hope that others will see just what Domestic Violence is, a travesty that must end.

If you are a Non-Custodial Mother, and would like support, or can share your case file, please contact us.  You are NOT alone.......

If you are a Victim or Survivor of Domestic Violence, and you have not received the help that you needed, or did not gain justice through the courts, please, let us know.  We must work together to bring about a change, and the only way to do that is to show the problem.

Enough is ENOUGH!  Together, we CAN and WILL make a difference!

A victim's first scream is for help: a victim's second scream is for justice."-
