LocalHood.ca to Add Google +1 Share Button

LocalHood.ca has announced that it is adding the Google +1 button to its advertiser place pages. The LocalHood.ca place pages currently support sharing with most of the top social networking sites on the web including Facebook.com and Twitter.com.
The Google +1 share button will be prominent on all LocalHood.ca place pages and it will allow a visitor to share the link to a specific place page along with a rich snippet (image plus excerpt/description) directly to the visitors Circles on Google+ (Google Plus). Clicking on the Google +1 button will also highlight the link to the visitors Google contacts and their contacts in Google search results.
Google Plus has been highly anticipated and much talked about since its 2011, phased out, release. Its user numbers are estimated to be more than 25 million according to comScore and increasing. The addition of the share button to the LocalHood.ca directory is in step with the directory’s focus on being a leading, local business web presence promotion opportunity for Canadian businesses and for other places of interest that include non-profit organizations and for Canadian Civic & Community resources.
In addition to becoming Google +1 enabled, LocalHood.ca will be adding other impactful features to the sites base code that will improve its place page functionality for advertisers. The sites css is set to receive a complete overhaul that will make it more light weight for faster loading webpages. Page load speed affects visitor experience and it is also a factor in seo performance.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization which is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page search engines with a specific focus on Google, Bing and Yahoo. With the popularity of Google +1, visitors will have another option for sharing listings with others in their online networks. LocalHood.ca is testing other design tweaks and observing onsite visitor behaviour that will set the direction for other improvements. The current redesign will also update the site’s mobile html so that the site will look even better on hand held mobile devices.
